Are you tired of getting recommended books that end up boring you after you read it? Well I can guarantee that these books that you read will leave you in awe.

5. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

This book will always be at the top of my most recommended books to read, from the moralistic writing to the intense vocabulary. The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of Oscar Wilde's most famous novels and very worth reading. As you get sucked into a story of a young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty, you will enjoy the riveting plot points and well thought-out theme.

4. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This brilliantly written classic won the Pulitzer Prize in 1961. The novel covers the issues of rape and racial inequality as well as class and gender. Harper Lee creates this beautiful story along with beloved characters, Scout, Jem, and Atticus Finch. The story line will get you hooked and the ending will leave you astonished. This novel has been one of my favorites for a very long time.

3. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

F. Scott Fitzgerald is most known for his flamboyant writing of the Jazz Age. The Great Gatsby has been debated for being one of the greatest novels ever written. This book is full of lavish parties, wealthy men, and quotes to use as Instagram captions. Once you read this book you will wish you were at one of Gatsby's parties.

2. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

You must have heard of Charles Dickens at some point in your life, either you confuse him with the man credited for the theory of natural selection or was forced to read a Dickens novel for English class. But once you read his work, you won't be able to mistake his writing, or him in general, from anything else. After reading the novel, you will have tears streaming down your cheeks.

1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Pride and Prejudice has quickly became one of the most famous novels in literature. Most people think of Jane Austen as a charming, witty, and humorous writer. She writes as if she is talking to you personally, like reading a letter from a secret pen pal. She writes about the best female protagonists, who are strong and good-natured, and gets you attached to all of her characters. After reading Pride and Prejudice, Austen will leave you fawning over Mr. Darcy.
